IntroductionFor over 40 years Languages and Intercultural Studies at Heriot-Watt has been producing graduates with international communication skills of the very highest quality. Communication is the essence of our degree programmes.LINT/ALTOur Languages (Interpreting and Translating) degree (LINT), and our Applied Languages and Translating degree (ALT), are ideal preparation for work as a language and communication specialist. Both degrees will provide you with a wide variety of skills, and a sound knowledge of the European Union and international current affairs. Students will study two main foreign languages to the same level throughout the course. The second language can be studied from beginners' or post-beginners' level. IMLWe offer a joint degree called International Management and Languages (IML). This degree includes a range of Management modules as well as language classes. The focus is on communicative and practical skills, covering a wide range of topics, the foremost of these being Business. During the (compulsory) year abroad, students will study Business at a French, German or Spanish university. |
