"I got a sponsorship for planning from Trinidad & Tobago's government and was able to choose anywhere in the world to study. I chose Heriot-Watt because it was well accredited for the Built Environment, and had good research aims. I also saw that it had branches all over the world, including one in Trinidad."

"Scotland looked like a really interesting place to study and the School of the Built Environment has world recognition so I thought why not go to the best! When I came I had so much fun, I came two weeks early just to be a tourist, I think that it's such a beautiful place."

"It's the best three years of my life so far. As a planning student I have a lot of best practice to pull from by being in Edinburgh. I love the travelling aspect too, they include this in the course. In the third year we went to Amsterdam and did a European regional study there, so it's those opportunities, I love those things."
