Teaching and Assessment
Learning methods include lectures, seminars, small group tutorials, projects and field trips. Assessment is by a combination of coursework and examination. In the final year, coursework accounts for 50% of the final assessment and is carried out through projects and research dissertations. Semester one includes a twelve-week long Industrial Placement.
Professional Recognition and Exemptions
Programmes are accredited by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and the Energy Institute (EI). BEng is accredited as meeting in part the academic requirements for CEng registration. MEng is accredited as meeting in full the academic requirement for CEng registration. (BEng students complete a 'further learning section' after graduating).
